We’ve been building and practicing our bespoke Pho We’ve been building and practicing our bespoke Phonetic Program at Little British Schools and the result is a joy to watch. In fact, it’s been such a success with the younger students that we have rolled it out into our older classes too. Weekly phonetic lessons through articulatory, acoustic and auditory practice have taken our English learning onto a whole new level of understanding and engagement. We start with same-letter sounds and single words moving progressively onto rhyming words, multi-syllable words, homophones and then more general public speaking practice using full sentences and eventually longer paragraphs with more complex text. Training our mouths to say different sounds is incredibly satisfying and with our team of experienced, English mother-tongue teachers, you’d be surprised at how quickly we can improve accent, pronunciation and enunciation. Whether it be single word imitation, reading an extract from Dahl or presenting a weather report, our students enthusiasm for perfecting English sounds is real and as a result their confidence soars.
