Remember, remember, the 5th of November, Gunpowder Remember, remember, the 5th of November, Gunpowder, treason and plot … In 1605, England was a place of division and unrest. In November of that year, a group of 13 men including Guy Fawkes decided to manifest their unhappiness by placing 36 barrels of gunpowder under the Houses of Parliament in an attempt to blow up the Protestant King James I. The plot was foiled just in time to stop the explosion and the men were arrested and sent to jail. The King was saved ! Yay ! Every year, on November 5th (the same day the planned attack was meant to take place), we remember this and celebrate Guy Fawkes Day with bonfires, fireworks, toffee apples and sparklers. It’s a happy occasion and always evokes childhood memories of cold inky skies, warming food and the crackling of Catherine Wheels ✨ #britishculture #learnenglish #screenfree #anglais #paris

There is something about October that feels like c There is something about October that feels like childhood adventure. The leaves, the glow, the crunch, the spook… We wanted to bring this sense of autumnal exploration into every one of our classes and ignite the creativity and imagination of all of our students. We wanted to create sensorial memories that anchor the developing language. Memories and language are one. We want to make and give both. This month, dressing-up was encouraged and the children adored it. Keener than ever in witches hats and wizard caps, they learnt and understood and remembered the words, the concepts and the phrases.
